My lifestyle: motorcycle ... for that I'm using the Vantrue F1. Nothing fancy, but a necessity. My car is on a DR970X-2CH, but I find that it doesn't need a witness as much as my bike does. Regardless, both are plug-n-forget, which is exactly what I want.
Would like to have seen your take on "remote box" (or whatever you'd like to call them) dash cams. Those where the recording is handled in a separate, remotely located box similar to the BlackVue Box and Vueroid D40-Q2. I'll be looking to install something like this in the spring.
We tested the Vueroid D40-Q2 a few months back and told Vueroid we would not be supporting the product. The cords were too thick. The front camera cord is not long enough to hide the box away, the red light and speed camera notifications come through the box and not the front camera. Overall good idea but not properly executed. With Blackvue we have only installed 2 of the units so we do not have enough data and I also do not have a unit to test and review.
@@SafeDriveSolutions Thanks for the quick reply. I think the appeal of a box-like system is the smaller camera , better heat management, and hidden recording media (unlikely to be stolen). I'm hoping 2025 will bring improvements in the current models out there (only 2 right now?) and possibly more players with this product design.
Love your videos! Im literally stuck on choosing btwn a few models because I want a bunch of features and not 1 has all of them together. I would like parking mode as an option, but as well for driving because my county has been getting insane with accidents recently, but I want to have 4k, and I want to have different options to choose what type of parking mode. I thought I was going to settle on Viofo, but now I am really considering Vueroid but I really want the super night mode. I dont know what to do, Sigh lol

Your videos are great! I have a Vantrue N5, but I’m thinking of switching to the Viofo A139 Pro or the A229 Pro. I need 3 channels, and I’ll decide between the two based on space. Hi Ben, The video is great, Ben. I am writing to you from New Zealand. I have been looking for a rear dashcam for my Rav4. The dealer fitted the Toyota dashcam for the front. But it does not come with a rear camera. So, I am not in for an expensive solution and easy to install(I am not a car person, and don't have idea about the wiring), but looking for a camera with Parking mode, and I was thinking of adding it to the BlackVue B-112 battery pack. I was looking at the Garmin Mini 2/3 as an option. So, when the car is turned off, the batter would power the camera, but the battery isn't large enough to camera for 10-12 hours of parking, and I don't need soo much of recording for the night. So, if I switch to parking more, ideally it should last the night. So, over here I wanted to know if I need the parking mode module separately if I am hooking to an external battery? I am guessing not? Also I don't want to pay for any paid subscription. Do you suggest some 1 channel cheap alter where it has a good parking mode, and the camera isn't big, and can be installed via a cigarette power adaptor?
Yes parking mode cable is required for parking mode to work even when hooking up to battery pack. If you use a cigarette lighter you will not have parking mode at all.
@@SafeDriveSolutions ok..thanks for that. So how do I connect the hard wire parts to my external battery? The battery has 2 usb ports, 1 port for DC in, 1 port for dashcam.
